What a Rush, no more.
R.I.P. Road Warrior Hawk (Michael Hegstrand)

Hawk was involved in the first wrestling match I can recall seeing. It was Road Warriors versus Midnight Express (Condrey and Eaton) with Jim Cornette in a scaffold match. I was personally finding myself excited by Dennis and "Beautiful" Bobby, in the fact that were fairly normal size and build and yet they were still taking it to the much larger, intimidating, make-up wearing Legion of Doom. Yet as the years went on I grew a fondness to them, especially during their feud with Warlord and The Barbarian. While their latter years came on, with Sunny as the manager and the Hawk is an alcoholic angle, it got bleak. Their last national TV appearance showed them to a shell of their former selves, but they were still Hawk and Animal. Animal looked more the weaker of the team even, to me at least. So for Hawk to suddenly be gone like this... just when they reformed with Paul Ellering at an indy show. It is a sad day indeed for me, and for wrestling as a whole.
